How does my research help children?

My research focusses on children and adolescents with developmental disabilities (autism and intellectual disabilities).  In particular, I am involved in research looking at the brain abnormalities associated with these conditions (through brain imaging) and treatment for interfering behaviours seen in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.  I am also involved in ongoing research looking at genetic factors involved in the cause of these disorders.

Research

The research my collaborators and I are involved in is aimed at increasing our understanding of the causes of these conditions, both genetic and environmental and, ultimately, with the development of better treatments for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.
